nature and purpose research essay

primary Research is research conducted through books, websites, and internet surveys. For my primary research I used the information form history books form the Norwich library, spastic teachers at the Norwich museum, facts form greekmythology.com and the creator of the Museum of Classical Archeology at the University of Cambridge.

An example of professional primary research would be in the film Seven Brides For Seven Brothers they used the boo The Sabine Woman as the topic of their film.

Secondary research:
Secondary research is the research used to backup facts and figures from primary research and also to support an idea of a film or TV show.
For my secondary research I used the information from the website Greek mythology. Com also while I was at the museum of classical archaeology at the University Cambridge I asked the curator if she could look my primary research and correct any mistakes I have made while researching my topic.

A professional example of secondary research would be the inspiration behind the film Titanic with the actual event of the sinking of the ship but also the news article.

Qualitative research:
Qualitative research is the numerical side of research if you wanted to know how many people visited a certain website on a specific week then you would collect the date form the website and the public.
For my qualitative research I used survey monkey to create a survey to ask my friends how many Greeks gods they know of and which one was their favourite.

A professional example of qualitative research is when a website is trying to find out which is the public's favourite superhero movie they would create a poll like on IMBD website.

Quantitative research:
Quantitive research is the understanding of peoples reasons, opinions and motives towards an idea of a film, subject, etc. And also to have peoples reviews on a specific topic. For my quantitative research I used a survey which worked the percentage of the answers for my qualitative data.

An example of  professional quantitive research is like IMBD shows the review of a new or film they will have left reviews on the public's opinion about that specific movie, and also how much money the movie had made and where it is in tje box office.

Audience and market research:
Audience marketing is used by companies to figure out what target audience is right for a certain product that they are trying to advertise. My example would be Unilever and Ben and Jerry's ice cream

This is an example of audience marketing because it explains why the companies products are and different ways they advertise their brands and who are their main target audiences.
A professional example would be Old Spice.
Old Spice is used as an professional example because in their original adverts the target audience of this company would have been aged for older gentlemen, bit recently it has changed to younger men due to its adverse indicating a younger man using Old Spice day to day.

Production research:
Production research is the research needed if a certain film company wanted to film a specific scene in a specific area. My example is my pre production for my three minute wonder documentary.

This is an example of production research because it shows the documents that can prove that I was allowed to film in the building and I know what the building looks like from the inside and outside.
A professional example of production research would be Danny Boyle's recent film yesterday film that was filmed in Gorleston.

These are examples of production research because it explains the research of using Gorleston as its main area to film and it also explains why the director wanted to use that area to film scenes for his movie.
